Hello! Despite a healthy amount of movement in the upper reaches of the Amazing Chart this week, Mancunian beatniks Santiago Street Machine have stayed on top again with Sinking Stone. This means they join a small selection of artists (comprising Paper Planes, Hannah Trigwell and Rebel Soul Collective) to enjoy three weeks at Number 1 in our rundown.
Their nearest competitor over the past seven days has been Swindon prodigy Theo Altieri, whose song Hanging On A Hook has been climbing week on week for the last month or so, and now sits proudly at Number 2, just ahead of the ever-popular Big Hands Make Bigger High Fives by Faux Disco Club.
Elsewhere in the Top 10, there are significant climbs for Daughter, Long Lost Sun and Matt Norris & The Moon, while French duo Flatlab and London-based band Royal Treatment Plant have made big inroads into the Top 20, the latter thanks to the awesome RAC remix of their tune All That’s Left.
In terms of New Entries in this week’s Chart, we’ve got eight of them to report! The accolade of highest-placed goes to London-based singer-songwriter Sophie Yau with her lovely track Nothing Left To Take landing at Number 29, just ahead of North East favourites Vinyl Jacket inside the Top 30.
This rundown also sees us welcome Scandinavian duo Leaving Atlantis, indie poppers Secret Rivals, Reading 4-piece Project Specific, London rockers Rob Cowen & The Dissidents, Glaswegian lo-fi merchants Haight-Ashbury and the Redditch-born electro wizardry of Found My Niche. Another great selection in the Chart this week!
