Letting Up Despite Great Faults are back and oh my, they’re as swoonful as ever. Their hazy, sun-kissed, West Coast pop had us all completely smitten when they released their Paper Crush EP last year and now they return with their sophomore full length, Untogether.
The track above, Visions, is the first glimpse into what promises to be an album full of washed out synths, fuzzy vocals and nostalgia.
The album is available to pre-order now and is released on October 9th.
Channeling an R&B vibe and lacing it with glitchy electronics, London duo AlunaGeorge go from strength to strength as they drop the new video for Just a Touch, part of the You Know You Like It EP, available now on Tri-Angle Records.
HAIM reveal the video for their stunning single, Forever, from one of the strongest EPs of the year so far. Check out the video below and listen to all three tracks here.
Ahead of his set at the Soundcrash Warehouse Party on 2nd June, one of our favourite purveyors of electronica, Ryan West (Rival Consoles), has put together this H U G E mix. It’s kinda dirty, with deep dub grooves and aggressive synths.
It feels weirdly nostalgic, but then so did his brilliant album, Kid Velo. It’s part of the Rival Consoles charm; it’s super-heavy, but with intelligent melody and all laced with an 8-bit glitch. Recorded with analogue equipment, the bass tones are deep and organic too. It’s a stunning 24 minutes vibe, so lock in and get psyched for the weekend.
About the mix, Ryan said:
“I was interested in faults and buzzing and imperfections and dub bass lines with slow house rhythms. I used analogue gear and sampling, with less emphasis on change and more emphasis on old school tone and mood.”
If you’re feeling this, get involved with Amazing Beats tonight from 7 on Amazing Radio. Mark Ryan takes your through 5 hours of the best new dance and electronica, a guest-mix from Nedry and updates on Glade Festival.
