Your New Favourite Band #114: Susanne Sundfør

July 11th, 2012

With an almost operatic approach to swirling indie, Susanne Sundfør‘s new track, White Foxes, is brilliantly cinematic and encompassing.

The track opens with a descending piano scale before dropping into a hypnotic, marching beat. It is deliciously dark and tense until it flourishes into a soaring chorus that reminds us a little of Austra‘s incredible Feel It Break album. The airy Scandinavian production gives it an icy cool which is reflected in Susanne’s lyrical imagery and in the eerie Mat Uds directed video.

White Foxes is taken from the acclaimed album The Silicone Veil, which topped the official charts in its native Norway, and will get its full UK release this October through Sonnet Sound. Susanne will also support M83 next week in London in her only scheduled UK date at the moment.

July 12th – Luxembourg – Rockhal w/M83
July 16th – London – Somerset House w/M83
Aug 8th – Oslo – Øya Festival
