Somewhere along the line it was decided that disco wasn’t cool any more. Everywhere, that is, except France where they keep hammering out the coolest disco jams. And they’re still better at it than anyone else in the world. (See SebastiAn, Breakbot et al.)

Despite having relocated to Berlin, Strip Steve still channels that typical French funk sound in his latest single, Astral Projection. A meandering spacey synth opens the track before falling straight into a gorgeous disco-funk groove. The track also features the dream-pop duo Puro Instinct, lending the track an other-worldly vibe. A swirling, reverb-laden storm atop a disco beat. Pure bliss.
