This week, Your New Favourite Band is getting all excited by the Ja Ja Ja club night at the Lexington on Thursday. To celebrate, we’re bringing you one of the bands on the roster every day in the run up to the gig. Ja Ja Ja is the definitive Nordic website and club night celebrating the very best new music emerging from Sweden, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Denmark. As a HUGE fan of Scandinavian music, I’m going to be shouting about this for the next few days. First up, Karin Park.

No stranger to Amazing Radio, Karin Park has received plenty of love from Mark Ryan of Amazing Beats fame. It has a distinct industrial dub-step vibe but Karin’s cutesier Bjork-esque vocals take the track in poppier direction. The UK may have given birth to dub-step but trust the Swedish to make it their own and nail the commercial pop-dubstep sound better than anyone in the genre’s home-nation.

Karin Park kicks off the Ja Ja Ja night this Friday having unleashed the Tiger Dreams EP this September. And what a way to start. Tomorrow: Johnossi.
