TUNE Tia Gostelow - Blue Velvet (piano version)
Emerging artist Tia Gostelow prepares to pull at the heartstrings with her most vulnerable release to date. The piano version of her recent single Blue Velvet is now.
The single mesmerises from the offset, filled with glistening piano melodies and hauntingly gorgeous vocals throughout. Tia’s rich songwriting abilities create a sound that is utterly compelling and undeniably breathtaking, sounding akin to the likes of Gabrielle Aplin and Nina Nesbitt. Taken from her debut album Thick Skin, Tia talks about the reinvention of the track, "Blue Velvet is the ballad of the album and that’s exactly what I wanted it to be. This was written in my bedroom and I just wanted to write a song that musically there wasn’t a lot going on and the vocals came right through the song. The song is about an intense love and being with someone who has made you feel ways you have never felt before and all the excitement of a new relationship.”
Having moved to Brisbane, Australia from the regional Queensland town of Mackay, Tia has now fully immersed herself in the Brisbane music scene. She has supported the likes of Ball Park Music, Frightened Rabbit and The Rubens to name but a few and her debut album has already received critical acclaim. Her single Strangers has gained over 4 million streams on Spotify, with her album reaching a collective 10 million streams and counting. Tia has received praise from a number of well-regarded publications including Idolater, Atwood Magazine and Tonspion to name but a few. Catch Tia live as she embarks on her first European tour this May, including a performance at Brighton's prestigious Great Escape Festival as well as various UK dates.
