TUNE King Kross - Moving Out
“Moving Out” was written in just 90 minutes, but nothing about it feels rushed or superficial.
Since starting the band three years ago, King Kross may not have uploaded more than a handful of highly catchy rock songs to their SoundCloud account, but the four masked guys from Denmark may just be the most exciting thing to carry the label "rock" in recent years. Behind veils of reverb and subtle effects their songs interweave post-punk vibes with murmuring bass lines, sonorous vocals, and that special feel for melody that seems increasingly rare in our age of digital diversity overload.
While still rumbling through the underground, the mysterious four-piece has all the makings of an international success with a cult following. Last year they provided further proof with the release of two demo songs: "Lose Yourself" and "Fear" sound like the wedding of Depeche Mode to Nick Cave—except rewound 30 years back, darker and, paradoxically, more modern. King Kross deserve their very own throne, and construction is well underway.
