TUNE The Great Dictators - Creep For Life
New pop sounds for aliens by The Great Dictators or Psychedelic pop from outer space.
’Creep For Life’ is the latest single by Copenhagen-based indie rock trio The Great Dictators.
The genre is electronic pop-rock. “Sonic mindfuckness” according to the band. The song presents a new sound from the Danish princes of melancholy in the shape of spacey synthesizers and distorted samples.
A few inspirations for the single include The Psychedelic Furs, Kraftwerk and one particular film composer.
Songwriter Dragut Lugalzagosi on ‘Creep For Life’:
“This song is our humble tribute to Jóhann Jóhannson. His soundcapes are always a big inspiration and also during the recording of ‘Creep For Life’. The lyrics tell a tale of a truly dysfunctional family where love and trust are illusions trying to stab you in the back. Dismal indeed. Some might say that family is a blessing. It can also be a curse for life. The song finishes with a noisy blast resembling a much needed exorcism, so maybe it’s a happy ending.”
The Great Dictators will release a new album ‘One Eye Opener’ April 17th via Celebration Records. It will be their first album in over 3 years since ‘Women’ in 2016.
