D’contraCacho is a band made up of an eclectic mix of surfers, artists and musicians that formed in a small seaside town on the Chilean pacific coast.
These beginnings are what shaped their unique sound. Being heavily influenced by reggae and progressive rock they were able to fuse this with Chilean folklore and a sprinkling of Latin beats creating their own distinctive signature and genre.
Due to their common love of the ocean their lyrics are political yet positive. Singing about conserving nature and creating “Buena onda” (good vibes) for humanity
They have played at events like the, “PARLEY FOR THE OCEANS” surf festival, “FICSURF ” surf film festival and, “OLAS LIMPIAS NGO” ocean conservation events. But the best place to catch them is around a campfire on a remote South American location.
“Al Alba” ( at dawn) is their debut EP consisting of four tracks that start with the genesis of the planet and take you on an emotional journey of human kind to present day. Challenging the listener to question themselves on a path to a heightened state of awareness
