Welcome to disobedience.
Prepare to be immersed in the sounds of Doom Dub Electro Warp Hop.
Let the Disobedients take you on a dark journey through the rotting post industrial landscape of Northern England, with huge bass grooves, razor sharp lyrics and twisted dub productions.
"Dark and dirty" - Slackjaw Films
The Disobedients formed in 2005 as a loose collective of musicians through the focus of Disobey Radio. Over the course of their first album "Cold Control" a strong working partnership was made between the lyricist and vocalist Epicentre (Red Eye Knights, Green Knights, Multiverse 3) and the production talent Ken Tubby. These two now form the core of The Disobedients, with other shadowy contributors dipping in and out of the project.
Work on the second album is now underway and promises to be a powerful, stripped down study of electronic-acoustic bleakness.
The Disobedients have been compared to Portishead, Tricky and Massive Attack, none of which is entirely accurate...
