Formally Frank, English Teacher take influence from post-punk, art-indie and psychedelic rock. Recorded onto 8 track reel-to-reel tape across 2 Hyde park bedrooms, their DIY debut EP 'Valentine' explored different types of love; not only your Valentine but for your art, your idols, strangers and yourself, through a dreamy and metaphor heavy frame. Since it's release on March 7th 2019, they have had the pleasure of shoving it in the earholes of audiences at venues across the UK including The Old Blue Last, Brudenell Social Club, and The Castle Hotel - supporting artists such as Yellow Days, No Vacation and Boogarins. Having spent a crowdfunded 10 days recording at a live-in studio in France, English Teacher’s debut single under their new name, ‘The World’s Biggest Paving Slab’ is due to be released early 2020.
‘Great title to this Rogue Florist, that’s a first… love those phasing vocals, big swelling guitars, a beautiful piece of music.’
-Alan Raw, BBC Introducing West Yorkshire
‘kinda like mad student bedsit weirdness underpinned by some classic rock logic.’
