TUNE Spiny Norman - Lost at a Festival
Probably, the first things that spring to mind when thinking about a festival are: Music, sun, booze, and even more sketchy substances enjoyed by a dancing, frolicking crowd. But what if your festival is spoilt by rain, not every band is as fun as the last one, and you lose your friends in the midst of the stifling crowd? This is the story of Lost At A Festival in a nutshell. The irritation of the lyrics of the verse are supported by a determined drum, cheeky bassline and a vicious synthesizer. Whereas the verses lend themselves to a hip-hop head bump, in the choruses we are allowed to swing our hips! The content of the lyrics does not significantly change in the choruses, but is put in a new light by the syncopated guitar, passionate backing vocals, and change of lead singer. However, this only seems to add injury to insult to the embittered protagonist. In the middle of the song there is time for contemplation. The narrator comes to the conclusion, that if he has lost his friends, he will just have to find some new ones. When the initial trepidation is finally cast aside, things work out for the better and even a new love is found. What a difference a change of mindset can make! That is exactly the sentiment that Spiny Norman wants to convey: Always look on the bright side of life!
