TUNE HAZY - Swimming Closer
"An alarmingly well-polished song considering it was written & recorded in the artists bedroom" - Reyt Good Magazine
"Taking the music scene by storm" - Vibez Music
"Energetic production packed with lush synths, gorgeous guitars and an infectious beat perfect to dance to" - Caesar Live n Loud
‘Swimming Closer’ (5th June) is a bouncy anthemic song that shouts ‘Summer’. It was co-produced by Andy Gannon who has worked on records for Rudimental, Clean Bandit and Robbie Williams. It was written and recorded in HAZY's bedroom during the heavy impact of covid-19 as a reaction to cabin-fever, “We’re all a statistic, but let's stay optimistic”. Whilst the song is light and energetic to the unsuspecting listener there is a deeper connection to the struggle that we have all endured during the lockdown.
Developing his previous soundscape, HAZY nods to the lo-fi bedroom pop sound found in the likes of Clairo and early Mura Masa, and kisses Swimming Closer with lo-fi tape machines.
This song follows in the footsteps of ‘Arcade’ (April 17th), which gained constant support on Shoreditch, Indie Star, KB Radio Canada, Hailsham, Kaos, The Sound Lab and Marlow FM Radio; and is part of a collection of monthly singles that HAZY will release this year.
