Born in Glasgow in 2017, Heavy Rapids are a rising 4 piece, ready to rip up the UK music scene with punk influenced rock n' roll tunes. In their first year the band have had multiple festival appearances including TRNSMT's Jack Rock Stage w/TF and Glasgows Tenement Trail which highlights the best new music in the UK right now. The band have released 4 singles to date with much more in the pipeline for 2018.
Since January 2017 Heavy Rapids have released 4 singles. Brand new track 'Crying Shame' will be released Jan 19th to kick of what will be an important year for the band. The track focuses on the growing number of youth who all look, dress, and act in identical styles to one another and surround themselves with false icons.
The band is also working closely with This Feeling in their Big In 2018 project which has already brought interest from beyond the Glasgow scene. Closer to home, the band is right in the centre of a flourishing scene which is showing the rest of the UK that Glasgow bands have a whole lot to offer! Being closely involved with the local institutions such as 'Control Social Club' and 'Club Sabbath' has helped to craft the energetic and powerful nature of Heavy Rapids singles released to date.
