Driving electronica meets dark and hypnotic pop. “Vocally as stunning as the legendary Björk” GRUNGECAKE (US). IDA STEIN lets you in to her sphere reflecting about society, relations and existential crisis.
Growing up on the South East coast of Norway, in Sandefjord, music has been the most important thing in her life since she started talking. Hiding away in her room, writing poems and reading, listening to everything she could find from her sister's CDs, was one of the seeds to her growing passion. Coming from a family where creativity and music is encouraged, and with her big urge to express something, she had never a doubt what she wanted to do.
Over the years she has become more and more obsessed with sounds, producing ambience to electro pop, whatever she feels like whilst in the making. She can also be heard in the Norwegian club scene, in the electronic DJ duo SYNK, where the production often peaks a higher BPM. She loves touching into that field, bringing some new inspiration back to her own songs. For one of her latest releases the Danish blog We Love Nordic described the music as "Mid-tempo pop glance with light electronics, spheric pad-sounds and the fragile voice of Ida floating over it".
