TUNE Landslides - I Want
In their relatively short time together as a band, Landslides already have the feel of a finished article.
Their brand of electro-fuelled alt-rock takes the epic melodies of Muse, the digital crunch of Enter Shikari and the intricate but pummelling percussion of Lower Than Atlantis as starting points, but spiral off in their own directions, with the result sounding like something completely individual, a band greater than the sum of their parts making thrilling, dynamic rock music.
The band’s debut single Make Me Feel Something was released last year and instantly made an impact, marking them out as ones to watch, but it’s with their new track I Want that Landslides look to be not only living up to that early promise, but smashing any expectations with a huge step up.
Recorded, mixed and mastered by Gordy McNeil at Toytown Records (Scouting For Girls, Gun), I Want is a stunning statement of intent from such a young band, accompanied by a gripping video that brings to life the track’s fierce statement on modern materialistic culture, coming over like They Live if it was directed by Quentin Tarantino.
It’s still early days for Landslides, but one listen to I Want is all anyone will need to know that this is a band that are custom-built for the big leagues and it’s only a matter of time before it happens.
