ASYLUMS release new Single ‘Millennials’
Taken from their highly anticipated new album
“Alien Human Emotions” out July 6th on Cool Thing Records
In a hugely significant move for Asylums, ‘Millennials’ is the band’s first slow track, the first to strip the distortion from singer Luke Branch’s songwriting and let his melody and
storytelling craft sparkle alone. Did someone say “ballad”?
‘Millennials’ is an anthem for a generation defined by a marketing demographic. The song has connected from the minute it first appeared in the band’s live set in February and has risen to become a show highlight, the fulcrum of the new Asylums that’s emerging from the old and a song that stops fans in their tracks.
‘Millennials’ doesn’t judge the generation but instead questions the sweeping generational generalisation. Ah, Millennials. Bridging the gap between Post-Generation X’ers and
whatever lazy stereotype the next load of hapless youth gets boxed up as. But maybe, just maybe, every generation is as fearful and confused as the last.
Following the massive first single ‘When We Wake Up’ from Asylums forthcoming album
‘Alien Human Emotions’, ‘Millennials’ brings down the frenetic pulse rate revealing singer Luke Branch, more than ever, as a songwriter of huge force and potential.
‘Alien Human Emotions’ is one of the most highly anticipated albums of the year. Released on July 6th it’s set to establish Asylums as one of the UK’s leading guitar acts.
