Noisy Irish quartet to release Deluxe Edition of debut ‘Stability’, recent winner of Northern Irish Album of the Year at the NI Music Prize.
“The Wood Burning Savages are undeniably one of the most intelligent and articulate new Irish bands to come along in quite some time.” – The Irish Times / ‘Stability’ 4/5 "
In Paul Connolly, they have one of the next generation's great rock frontmen." – Tom Robinson, BBC Radio 6Muisc
“Smart, fearsome, passionate rock music that punches you right in the heart.” – Gary Lightbody, Snow Patrol
Provocative alt-punks The Wood Burning Savages are an incendiary four piece that proudly wear the rebel spirit of their hometown on their sleeves. With pulsating riffs and a sharp political edge, they are often compared to Manic Street Preachers, Frank Turner and Queens of the Stone Age.
Their awarding winning self-released debut album ‘Stability’ recently beat out Snow Patrol, Ash and And So I Watch You From Afar to win Northern Ireland’s version of the Mercury Prize at the end of 2018. Taking home the Northern Ireland Music Prize for Northern Irish Album of the Year, previously won by the likes of Soak, Ciaran Lavery and Foy Vance.
They also took home Northern Ireland’s Best Live Act, the first act to ever win two awards at the ceremony.
The band is now proud to be releasing a Deluxe Edition of the album, featuring all the tracks from the original album plus a collection of bonus tracks and live recordings. Featuring the singles ‘I Don’t Know Why I Do It to Myself’, ‘We Love You’ and ‘Rat Race’.
The album has drawn plaudits for its breathless intensity and cutting tales of disillusion and indignation. Sharing the stories of a generation more marginalised and divided than ever before.
They've been championed by BBC Introducing in Northern Ireland, BBC Radio 1, Radio X, RTE 2FM and have recently played in session for BBC 6Music and Today FM.
The band has been lauded for their frenetic live shows, with Hot Press heralding them as 'N.Ireland's best live band' and BBC Radio 6Music's Tom Robinson claiming "In Paul Connolly, they have one of the next generation's great rock frontmen."
2019 is already gearing up to be a busy year for the band as they set out to support Skinny Lister across the UK this spring. Plus, it was recently announced that they’ll be support Snow Patrol at their open air homecoming show in Bangor this May.
‘Stability: Deluxe Edition will be released digitally on 22nd February.
