Brighton-based Night House are delighted to announce the release of their stunning new single ‘BLACKOUT’ out Friday 24th of January via Back in The Woods Records.
The band draw from a wide range of influences marrying the electronic work the likes of which James Blake and Radiohead are renowned for, with the folk harmonies of Sufjan Stevens, Joni Mitchell, and Bon Iver.
‘Blackout’ takes Night House on a darker turn with washed out synths, hazy guitars and dark electronic beats enveloping their signature orchestral folk sound; as lead single Nick Williams explains:
“Blackout was written about jealousy and toxic masculinity. It focuses on how we can lose our perception of reality when our emotions are taken over by insecurity. For this song it was important to me that the music mirrored the lyrics, adding blurred late-night club vibe to our minimal electronic folk sound. As the track progresses, we bring in more electronic beats, dark swirling synths till eventually we land with a four on the floor club beat in the second chorus.”
Night House have picked up support from tastemakers such as M-Magazine (PRS for Music), Clash Magazine, BBC Radio, The Vinyl District and Come Here Floyd, as well as videos premiering on Attitude Magazine and God is in the TV.
Night House have supported many artists including Ben Howard, Willy Mason, Solomon Grey, Krystle Warren and The Magic Numbers. Road testing the material for Everyone Is Watching From Afar took the band on four European tours, including headline shows upstairs at Ronnie Scots Jazz club as well as sell out home town shows at Brighton’s St Nicholas and Unitarian churches. They've performed at many festivals including at The Great Escape, Rhythm Tree, The Isle of Wight and Ynot.
BLACKOUT, is out on 24.01.2020 via Back in The Woods Records.
