TUNE Wicketkeeper - Wicketkeeper - 'All My Friends' single
London 3 piece Wicketkeeper are comprised of Ryan Oxley (Guitar/Bass) and brothers Alex (Bass, Drums, Guitar) and Simon Morley (Vocals/Drums/Guitar).
‘All My Friends’ is the first track from their forthcoming debut EP ‘Muscle Baby’ out Feb 9th.
The band recorded ‘Muscle Baby’ live at House of Strange in South East London with Ash Gardner.
“We figured the best thing to do was just get in a room and record everything live to try capture the energy, and playing into a desk didn’t sound like it’d be as much fun” says Simon.
They've have been keeping good company already playing shows with the likes of Fist City, Colleen Green, Novella and The Proper Ornaments to name a few. Wicketkeeper take the form of a classic trio; bass, drums and guitar, but rarely stay on one instrument long enough to strictly call it their own.
“We mainly write songs separately then bring them to each other” explains Simon, “so we’re not swapping instruments on stage to show how multi-talented we are, it’s kinda the opposite! It makes more sense for whoever wrote that particular song to play it on guitar, rather than waste time teaching each other parts just for the sake of playing the same instrument all the time”.
'Muscle Baby’ is made up of 5 raw tracks of guitar wave pop packed full of chunky guitar hooks and authentic slacker charm which suggests Wicketkeeper are a band worth keeping an eye on.
