TUNE MØ - MØ - XXX 88 Feat. Diplo
MØ today premieres her biggest track yet, the pulverising XXX 88 feat. Diplo. The Major Lazer man co-produced the song alongside Ronni Vindahl of Danish producer entity No Wav. XXX 88 feat. Diplo is due out 20 October via Chess Club / RCA Victor. The track will be part of an EP, alongside three other new tracks; details to follow.
MØ (AKA Karen Marie Ørsted) landed on the radar when she posted the emotive, lush synthscapes of Maiden last year, followed up with a stunning turn at CMJ in New York in the autumn. This led the Danish songstress to be tipped by the likes of Pitchfork, The Guardian, The Line of Best Fit and NME, and voted onto the longlist of the Blog Sound of 2013.
She dropped her beat-driven glitch-pop debut single Pilgrim via Chess Club / Neon Gold in February, and stormed SxSW in Austin, Texas the following month. Both Pilgrim and it’s b-side, a remix by labelmates MS MR, topped the Hypemachine chart upon debut. It was swiftly followed at the summit by recent single, the Radio 1 ‘In New Music We Trust’-playlisted Waste of Time, and a string of headline grabbing festival shows, including performances at Latitude, Secret Garden Party, and Reading and Leeds last weekend.
In the background, MØ has been in the studio, working on her debut album with Ronni Vindahl.
MØ plays London XOYO on 5th November; more dates to be announced soon.
