The Ninth Wave release their new single ‘Human Behaviour’ from their forthcoming debut album ‘Infancy’ which will be released on November 15th. Recorded between The Distillery in Bath and Post Electric Studios in Edinburgh, ‘Human Behaviour’ was the final track from the ‘Infancy’ sessions and marks a shift into more mature territory for the band. The ballad is the band’s first foray into orchestral instrumentation and centres around vocalist and bassist Millie Kidd’s stunning piano chords, also featuring her younger sister on the trumpet. The track’s soaring chorus features breathtaking vocals from Haydn Park-Patterson, with the lyric “we could just exist, it’s better than saying goodbye,” exploring the demise of a relationship. Speaking about the track, the band say: “‘Human Behaviour’ is a song for hopeless acceptance. It was written during the end of a long term relationship and is an expression of the helplessness felt when the two people involved both know that there is nothing to save.” November’s album release and tour mark the apex of a sensational two years for The Ninth Wave. Recent singles ‘Imitation’ and ‘This Broken Design’ have been in heavy rotation on across national radio and show no signs of slowing down. This year, the band has supported CHVRCHES at the huge SSE Hydro arena and Edinburgh Summer Sessions, and supported Suede in Glasgow and The Blinders and YONAKA across the UK and Europe. They were chosen by the BBC as one of the highlights of SXSW and garnered further acclaim from the likes of The Guardian, Noisey and NME. With their best work yet to come with the release of ‘Infancy Pt. II’, The Ninth Wave’s future is impossibly bright. The Ninth Wave will play the following live dates in 2019.
