Sharp Shotz Unsigned is a music competition for young unsigned musicians. It is part of the Sharp Shotz project which is focused on providing exciting opportunities for young people and is dedicated to promoting their creativity.
Sharp Shoz Unsigned is run in partnership with Peter Gabriel's Real World Studios.
The tracks featured here are the two winning songs which were rerecorded and mastered at Real World Studios, as well as a selection of the runners up from last year's competition.
Sharp Shotz Unsigned opens again to entries on February 11th 2010. We are looking for tracks that can raise awareness around either 1. guns and knives or 2. drugs and alcohol.
Entries will be judged on:
1.The quality of the message - we are looking for songs that make you think, are convincing, that promote positive choices and have some depth of understanding of the given category.
2. The quality of the track - we are looking for music that will make people sit up and listen, are original, offer something new.
Other than the examples of last year's entries a guide line song in regards to lyrics would be White Lines by Grandmaster Flash.
We want entries from all music forms from grime to classical and everything in between.
