TUNE Squidge - Simple Functions
Simple Functions, produced by Bob Cooper, is as equally high adrenaline and abrasive as it is melancholic. With colossal guitar riffs and an infectious chorus, Simple Functions is a perfect blend of punk, 90's Grunge and contemporary pop-rock.
Simple Functions is about being trapped within a hopeless situation. The anxiety induced by such a situation can make everyday tasks (or ‘the simple functions’) seem impossible. Alongside the track is a music video edited by drummer Tom Dodd, which features a number of friends, family and fans presenting the lyrics word by word. Matt Bigland of Dinosaur Pile-Up, Josh Gallop of Phoxjaw and Joe Phillips of Muskets/High Praise also crop up in the video!

2019 was a busy year for Squidge. Their previous single ‘Tired’ saw great success on Spotify by landing itself on 4 major playlists and accumulating over 24,000 streams! The four played an extensive amount of shows from North to south including a trip up to the Lake District. One of their most talked about shows of the year was in support of Brighton Grunge rockers Muskets, which sold out the short-lived venue ‘The Den’. Keen to maintain momentum, Squidge then embarked on a co-headline tour with Pop-Punkers All Smiles In Wonderland in late 2019. The quartet covered much of the southwest from Andover to Bristol (supporting Sick Joy). The tour concluded with a hometown show with Phoxjaw.
