TUNE Tan Cologne - Cave Vaults on the Moon in New Mexico
The title track, Cave Vaults on the Moon in New Mexico, was grafted from Taos Composer Joanne Forman’s 1987 soundscape. Her composition “Cave Vaults of The Moon” accompanied a sculpture exhibition in Taos, NM on imagined alien artifacts - a resonant investigation and scent of Tan Cologne. The song speaks of otherworldly and geologic observations of New Mexico. In Taos, there is a legend of a “hum” that rises from the Earth. Some people claim to constantly hear or sense it. This concept is referenced as the lyrics “bury the sound down below.” The following lyrics “moon underground, moon above” references the feeling of New Mexico being the moon. Oftentimes, the landscapes of New Mexico mirror otherworldly and other planetary visions.
