TUNE Terry Dring - Have I Let You Down?
'Have I Let You Down?' is a most singular composition and performance by Terry Dring. A song of two halves. The first part, is all moody, atmospheric banjo (yes!, and I didn't know there was such a thing as creating a 'moody atmospheric banjo sound' either, until I heard what Terry had achieved here) with a lilting and yearning vocal to match the lyric. The second part, is a self destructive, self hating outpouring of emotion, via a heavier guitar sound. It's a song that has to really be heard, to be explained or understood, and when listening, remember that Terry recorded this entirely by himself in his spare room at home, on the cheapest recording equipment and instruments. Remarkable.
Like all of Terry Dring's songs highlighted on amazing Tunes, a copy of 'Have I Let You Down?', is held by Terry's solicitor, for legal purposes.
