The Velvet Hands release Sick of Living limited edition picture sleeve red 7” vinyl for Record Store Day. The vinyl single will be followed by full national radio/online/press campaign for the digital global impact on 23rd June via iTunes. Sick Of Living is released via Cornish label-of-the-moment Easy Action (home to Lost Dawn, The Red Cords and The Black Tambourines) and is distributed by Cargo.
The Velvet Hands are the latest band to emerge from Cornwall’s blistering garage-rock (‘Kernow Wave’ - NME) scene. The ambitious, Stones x Strokes tinged quartet formed in 2015 (and are still in their teens), but have released a sting of standout singles: Habit, I Don’t Mind and Trains b/w Curtains Closed (Last years #RSD16 Record Store Day release, with all 300 copies selling out instantly). The Velvet Hand’s blistering live sets, with two frontmen Dan Able and Toby Mitchell wrestling for the mic, has seen them booked for a run of big name gigs, from a slot at Cornwall’s Boardmasters festival through to a recent Camden Rocks presents London show, and support slots with the likes of The Bluetones, Yak and wild Smiles
Sick of Living was recorded at Troubadour Studios, Falmouth and produced by Ben Woods (ex -Lost Dawn/The Golden Dregs). The Velvet Hands are Toby Mitchell, Dan Able, Louis Willbourne and Sam Hilder. Airplay support from BBC Introducing Cornwall, BBC 6 Music (Radcliffe & Maconie, Steve Lamacq and Tom Robinson) and BBC Radio London (Gary Crowley) plus tastemaker publications such as NME and Gigslutz.

Lyrics - ‘Sick of living’ - Radio Edit
I heard you want to be the greatest thing in rock and roll,
You hate the life you're living, isn't good for you at all,
Don't expect any money there's not enough,
It's a cruel cruel work,
Chorus - you know, it gets tough x2
16 and your life's a sham,
sick of living, yes I am.
Don't you know that your life is done,
remember when you
Chorus – we’re having fun, we’re having fun.
So high you don't know what's real,
you can't remember your last meal.
Fill your life with expensive sh….
feel like you’re living, in a pit. X2
Outro: and you don't know what it is you want X4
