TUNE KAHLLA - Same Love
London based artist Kahlla releases her new track ‘Same Love’, an ode to love gone stale. Following the greatly received ‘Small’, the German native offers another atmosphere-laden indie pop track that combines piano, R’n’B inspired drums and bare-all lyricism with an air of understatement that quickly sets her apart from her contemporaries.
A co-production between multi-instrumentalist and electronic producer Joe Turner and herself, ‘Same Love’ takes a more soulful approach than her previous releases, while still cementing what Kahlla is all about: pop that doesn’t have to shout to grab your attention.
A subtle and dreamy song, ‘Same Love’ packs a punch with its multi-layered vocals and lyrical message of an uncomfortable truth: “‘Same Love’ is about that time in a relationship when you’ve taken those rose-tinted glasses off and see it for what it really is. It’s about realising that the people you love are flawed and that happiness takes work. But I think ultimately, underneath the sadness, it’s actually an optimistic song.”, Kahlla says.
After her previous single ‘Small’ bagged her strong support from BBC Introducing (“A gorgeous, gorgeous track.”), including a session in their Live Lounge, fan favourite ‘Same Love’ further sets the scene for an exciting new artist that clearly has something to say.
