TUNE Warm Digits - The View from Nowhere (feat. Emma Pollock)
reveal new single ‘The View from Nowhere’
featuring Emma Pollock
new album ‘Flight of Ideas’ due 3 April via Memphis Industries
‘The View From Nowhere’ is the first taster from electronic duo Warm Digits' new album ‘Flight of Ideas’ due 3 April on Memphis Industries. The single was cowritten with and features the vocals of The Delgados' Emma Pollock and the album promises additional collaborations with The Orielles, Rozi Plain, The Lovely Eggs and Paul Smith of Maximo Park.
‘The View From Nowhere’ concerns a pair of people working out their closeness and distance. It could be about any relationship, but the title is a reference to the way psychoanalysts historically kept themselves a "blank screen" with their patients, as if they could take a "view from nowhere" and be wholly objective in what they saw. As the song unfolds we see the folly of denying our normal human responses to others who are suffering. The song encapsulates the theme of the upcoming album ‘Flight of Ideas’, which considers what happens when we cling to an idea we're convinced is right, even when it's become obsolete.
